JFK Finally Releasing "...Wings..."

I have been waiting, and waiting, for this album to drop for what seems like a million years and it is finally upon us. After watching his 'Skul brethren Onry release two of my favorite records in a long fucking time (Vessel and Believeyoume) I am anxious to see what Jeff the Filipino Killer is about to unleash on the unsuspecting masses. He is having a lil' party to commemorate its release at one of our Fremont favorites, Nectar Lounge, this Thursday. With a little help from his friends Sonny "Yeah I was in a B.o.B. video" Bonoho, Neema, and Syreeta the crowd will be officially rocked. Oh and Lurrrry is hosting the shit, I know heckling Mizell is a big selling point to a lot of you.

Big Boi - Shutterbug (Video)

The video to the club banger of the year. I can't really stop bumping this. I can't really believe that Scott Storch had this left in his tank after he blew his platinum stacks on booger sugar and Lil Kim's plastic surgeries either. All I know is this song is stupid and I will keep playing it for many moons to come.

Can't wait for this album either.

#SeaCal Release Party - Behind the Scenes

Huge endless, mondo props go out to Class Project (10-4 Roger and Saynt Anthony) for putting this killer behind the scenes vid together.

What a great night this was and the vid does an excellent job of catching the vibe and positive collective town energy radiating through Pravda. Seattle was most definitely in the building and everyone brought a little something to the performance and to the party itself. So sit back and enjoy what was one of the coolest experiences and parties of my career, and Members Only's existence.

BeanOne is still better than you.

Just in case you may have forgotten, BeanOne is still making beats. They are better than most. This remix is just plain unfair.

You can download this remix for FREE on BeanOne's Bandcamp page.

Oh Say Can You Seeeeeee?

Bladaow! Back up in that ass like a bottle rocket in the Jackass movie! Come celebrate the best holiday of the year in style with a lineup that is sure to supply some serious BANG for your buck.

Wizdom & Grynch "Got Ya Numb"

New video from the homie Wizdom and the "King of Ballard" Grynch directed by Jon Augustavo. Pretty dope video for a good song with a backing track by Mack The Knife. Wiz stays on his grind getting better and better as he matures on the mic. I expect to see some great things from him in the future.

Facelift

So we got a minor facelift today thanks to my day off. Should be making some more nips and tucks as we grow and since I will have more time to dedicate towards design. Hope you enjoy.

Get Friendly

Sol has been a friend of the Members Only crew for a hot minute, and is one of our favorite cats making noise in the 206 right now. He just released his latest EP for FREE over on his website and you need to go and get that right now before we have a problem.

Grime Time

I better be seeing all of youz out to support the homie Rabid Child at his art show next month. Swervy, Radjaw and myself will be there to provide the jams. Free beers and there will indeed be some BBQ going down on the sidewalk. Pretty much good times.

I always wish the music scene was like this...

We want a band that plays loud and hard every night
That doesn't care how many people are counted at the door
That would travel one million miles
And ask for nothing more than a plate of food and a place to rest
They'd strike chords that cut like a knife
It would mean so much more than t-shirts or a ticket stub
They'd stop at nothing short of a massacre
Everyone would leave with the memory that there was no place else in the world
And this was where they always belonged
We would dance like no one was watching
With one fist in the air
Our arena just basements and bookstores across an underground America
With this fire we could light
Just gimme a scene where the music is free
And the beer is not the life of the party
There's no need to shit talk or impress
'Cause honesty and emotion are not looked down upon
And every promise that's made and bragged
is meant if not kept
We'd do it all because we have to, not because we know why
Beyond a gender, race, and class, we could find what really holds us back
Let's make everybody sing
That they are the beginning and ending of everything
That we all are stronger than everything they taught us that we should fear

A Little Steve Winwood

Steve Winwood is pretty much the man as evidenced by this:

And This:

As well as This"

Solo, with Spencer Davis Group, or Blind Faith he was always on point.
Can't hipsters bring back music like this instead of proto-punk garage rock
from the 70s?

Beautiful Freebies

More good free ish from the lovely ladies of Canary Sing. Seattle is putting out some incredible music...for FREE. You should get hip.

Three Piece

GO DOWNLOAD THIS IMMEDIATELY.

I've made no secret of the fact that The Physics are probably my favorite group making music in Seattle. What they represent, their musical vibe, beats, flows, ect connect with my tastes and represent that illusive unicorn that is the "Seattle Sound" in a way that few have.

I thought it would be impossible to improve on the masterpiece that was 'High Society,' but they did. I damn near wore that EP out last Summer and it was one of only a pair of local releases to make my top 25 list last year. This three song collection is a further departure from the 'beats and raps' side of local hip-hop and crosses the line into that more soulful/jazzy territory that really shows their appreciation for the genres and their growth as artists.

So enough words...go download that ish and let the music do the talking.

Bop Alloy w/ Marcus D & Substantial

Marcus D came through the Bistro on the SU campus (where he is a student) and dropped off a copy of his album for us to play and help promote this show. The record sounded pretty damn good. He has some great samples, and in speaking with him only briefly it's obvious he knows good music and is digging for samples all the time.

I'm sure you know about our little shindig this weekend, but it goes late. Get out to Vera early and support that local up and coming shit!

Oddisee x dj100proof - Travelling Man Remixes

In anticipation of the Oddisee headlining appearance at MEMBERS ONLY this Saturday and the Diamond District show at Chop Suey on Sunday I am releasing this 6 track remix ep featuring Oddisee beats from his 'Traveling Man' project.

Head over to my brand new Bandcamp Page to stream it and download it for FREE.

MEMBERS ONLY - 5/8

So the latest edition of the party that gave us our name features one of my favorite producers, and all around creative genius, Oddisee. Get hip. NOW.

Also on the bill we have the good homie Sol, who was featured on the SOTA record and has been steady on the come up for quite some time. Rounding it out we have the super production combo of OC Notes and Waystyles, who make up LeRoy. Live production sets that are pretty bonkers.

So you should pretty much know the drill by now. Ill Party + BYOB + Good Music = Members Only.

See you there.

Coming to a Theater Near You: NWA THE MOVIE!

nwa

So I guess they are making an N.W.A. movie? As far as bad ideas go this has got to be up there. Didn't the producers see Notorious? I guess that movie made around 50m and that was enough for the suits in Hollywood to rush this future piece of revisionist history into production. The chick who wrote the shiteous Oliver Stone 9/11 flick World Trade Center is signed on to script the film which according to imdb she is also writing a film about the Gucci family.

Cube and Dre are reportedly the producers and according to the rock hard facts over at wikipedia Lil Eazy E is playing his father and Cube's son DoughBoy is playing the old man. I hope they get Jonah Hill to play Jerry Heller.

Who would yall like to see play the rest of the crew?

#SeaCal Release Party Pics

So the party was a smashing success...LATE PASS. Here is some proof!
